Tooth is out..I am feeling 90%!

So, got that tooth pulled earlier this week.

It was a wisdom tooth, one of four that I still have in my mouth.

I wanted to take a picture of my pulled tooth, but I was in a decent amount of discomfort and the dentist (thanks Bruce for the referral) was sticking a wad of gauze in my mouth hole. I asked him if I could keep it. He replied no.

I was shocked to hear this, but when he said he had to destroy it I was already putting his words in the background of my thoughts. I wanted that tooth. I wanted to dip it in either gold/ink/something just so that I could use it for some sort of art project later down the line. I was a little irritated, but since I could hardly speak because of the anesthetic, I really didn't put up too much resistance.

Now I have a hole in my mouth hole where a tooth used to be.

Mozilla's Beta Browser: Aurora

Okay,

I normally use Chrome by Google to search the web, view my daily memebase photos, visit Gizmodo, etc. But I had recently downloaded (last year) Mozilla's pet project Aurora. It is effing great.



Most of the time I had used it as a secondary browser so that I could update two different Wordpress sites at once, but now, I have been using it just to edit my site and post and browse and do everything. It is a great browser. You can inspect page elements with the regular right click and Inspect Element, but I never pressed the 3D button until today. When pressed, it will show you the page that you are viewing and all of its web elements in a a 3D plane. I expected it to lag because I am on an old white Macbook, but to my surprise it ran very smooth. I do not know if it uses Flash or HTML5 to bring it into view, but it is awesome.

Facebook Timeline Cover

So I was pretty excited last year when Facebook decided to release the new Timeline feature on their site. They also let you preview / activate it if you had a Facebook Developer's account (which I did) and upon upgrading to the Timeline beta feature you were able to see other dev's Facebook pages in the Timeline format (if they decided to enable it).

NOTE: If you do not currently have the Facebook Timeline feature enabled, click here and the page includes instructions on how to allow the timeline on your Facebook profile.

Recently, Picscatter launched a feature which would load your selected Facebook album and create a scatter of pictures into a landscape / Timeline Cover photo that will show up on your profile page. I wanted to use it, but for some reason it was not picking up all of my photo albums. I decided to make one for myself just using photoshop and having a few cigarettes while sipping coffee at Starbucks.

How to Enable the Facebook Timeline

If you need some help launching the Facebook Timeline on your page (I know that there are a bunch of my friends who have not and have no idea what the heck this feature is) then you have come to the right place!

Just gonna say, its really easy.

Step 1

Go here.

Step 2

Click "Get Timeline"

Step 3:

Click "Publish Now"

Now you have the Facebook Timeline enabled and can choose a cover photo for your profile :)

Custom Instagram Button for Download!

Hey!

I just got finished making a custom Instagram icon / button for use on your websites! I also have the .PSD files available for download if you would like to tweak it or perhaps just give me some feedback! I am still new to photoshop, but I am trying out button creation and photo editing for kicks. Toothache = hell.

I am 24 years old and the last time I remember visiting the dentist I was still a bit of a wee lad. I had health and dental insurance when I was 16-18 because I worked at VONS back then, but after that I had zero coverage for anything.

Every time I get sick I just sleep it off. I have had a couple of toothaches in the past, but I just ignored them with good 'ol Tylenol. But now, I have suffered because of my ignorance. A couple years back I was out drinking with some friends and when I was chewing some gum I noticed something hard when I was chewing. It ended up being a large piece of my tooth that had been broken and finally loosened itself off my gums. Drunk at the time, I felt nothing. The next morning, however, I felt a terrible pain in my mouth that is indescribable. Seriously, when you look online about people having a broken tooth due to lack of care, the only way to get the pain to feel a little dull is by essentially banging your head against the wall. It is horrible. Back then I worked for Borders Books and made decent money, but I was stupid and just let it be.

Round two happened earlier last year when a piece of that same tooth fell out. Hurt for a while, but not nearly as bad as the initial break. And earlier this year another tooth started to chip. A little while ago a larger piece fell off and now it feels like there is a knife in my tooth just digging into my gums. It doesn't really matter what I am doing - it will hurt for no reason except for the fact that it's infected.

I went to the dentist on Thursday and got a prescription of Amoxicillan for the infection, and Ibuprofen for the occasional pain. To be blunt, that ibuprofen doesn't do anything. I don't know if my body has made an effort to curb the effects of that shit, but I don't feel any less pain than before.

I will be getting the tooth removed on Tuesday morning. After that, I will get the other broken tooth, that doesn't really bother as much, removed later on. This will be followed by occasional visits to the DDS to get some fillings and cleanings so that none of this shit happens again.

Remember people: TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEETH.

This is pretty much a huge fail on my part.
